Job Title: Project Manager (Healthcare) – PMP Certified
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced PMP-certified Project Manager (Healthcare) for an upcoming California State consulting engagement. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience managing large-scale healthcare IT initiatives, including Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and access-to-care programs, while ensuring strict compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulatory requirements.
This role requires demonstrated success leading complex projects in public-sector healthcare environments, collaborating with state agencies, vendors, and clinical stakeholders to deliver secure, compliant, and patient-centered solutions.
Mandatory Qualifications
• Seven (7) years of broad, progressively responsible experience applying project management principles, methodologies, techniques, and tools to large and complex IT and healthcare-related projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects within healthcare domains, including one or more of the following:
• Medicare and Medicaid programs
• Managed Care and Access to Care initiatives
• Healthcare eligibility, enrollment, claims, or provider systems
• Clinical, administrative, or public health IT systems
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
• ITIL certification demonstrating knowledge of IT service management best practices.
• Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher preferred) with experience applying quality and process improvement methodologies.
• Two (2) years of experience managing IT projects using Agile solution implementation methodologies, including iterative development, incremental delivery, and user-centered design principles.
Healthcare & Regulatory Experience
• Proven experience working in HIPAA-regulated environments, including:
• Protection of Protected Health Information (PHI)
• Data privacy and security compliance
• Coordination with security, compliance, and legal teams
• Familiarity with federal and state healthcare regulations, policies, and reporting requirements impacting Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care programs.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $90,000.00 - $122,000.00 per year
