They are looking for an Account Manager for the Medical Affairs Publications team to manage client relationships and ensure project delivery while identifying growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Act as day-to-day client contact for publication work streams: provide regular status updates to your client; respond to client queries and share recommendations (following discussion with your account lead); manage client expectations on timelines, scope of project, etc.; take client briefs and clearly communicate to team members, implementing realistic project plans
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of your account, including managing the processes of the account (including running regular internal team meetings), flow of work, delegation of tasks (oversee status reports to ensure all team actions are complete) and the status of jobs across the account (not just your own)
- Ownership of and accountability for medium/large client projects, ensuring that projects are delivered to highest possible standards within budget and agreed timeframes
- Ongoing communication with your account lead on the progress of projects; alerting them to any barriers to project completion and being proactive in making recommendations and proposing solutions on how to proceed
- Awareness of the client’s business priorities and a sound understanding of the program strategy; have a good understanding of competitor activity
- Keep abreast of trends and developments in the medical communications and pharma industries
- Start to identify areas for growth (evolving existing programs and/or additional tactics), proactively sharing new ideas with your team and client
- Keep abreast of market changes
- Be proactive when new business opportunities arise, flagging relevant experience and areas of interest, contributing thoughts and ideas, assisting in the production of credentials and pitch presentations
- Maintains general understanding of account finances; supports account lead with financial management
- Continued professional development engagement; work with manager to identify training opportunities based on areas of interest and need
Skills
- Experience in publications in an agency setting (additional Med Affairs experience desirable)
- Working knowledge of ICMJE and GPP guidelines
- Publication database experience such as iEnvision, PubsHub, etc
- Highly organized with a mindfulness of deadlines, the ability to manage multiple tasks based on priorities and a strong attention to detail
- Independent thinker confident in taking ownership of assets and material development, but a team player who enjoys collaboration
- Professional presence, performs with a sense of urgency and with a client service orientation
- Has confidence to manage upward when required; able to communicate with managers when deadlines will not be met or when issues are foreseeable
- High energy, able to effectively operate in fast-paced, growing and evolving environment
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, with a track record of following through on client requests and with high-quality deliverables on schedule and on budget
