They are seeking a Business Intelligence Consultant to manage and analyze data quality, prepare materials for senior management, and develop actionable reporting and analytics to support critical business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and coordinates materials for various committees and presentations for senior management, Board of Directors, and external audiences
- Ensures data is relevant, accurate, reliable, and timely to support critical business decisions
- Manages, analyzes, and reviews data quality across internal and external sources, ensuring consistency, timeliness, documentation, and governance
- Ensures reporting solutions are aligned with business and enterprise strategic priorities
- Prepares client communications as well as management and board reporting materials on a monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc basis
- Understands client and other stakeholder requirements and translates business needs into actionable reporting and analytics
- Prepares treaty compliance reports that are accurate and delivered within required timelines
- Develops a strong understanding of enterprise-wide data flows and upstream systems impacting client, management, and board reporting
- Maintains thorough documentation of processes, methodologies, and controls supporting reporting deliverables
- Collaborates with internal and external service providers to source and validate data
- Advances reporting processes and BI tools to drive efficiency, automation, and accuracy of data and analytics
- Suggests solutions for complex issues impacting compliance, regulatory reporting, or data integrity
- Identifies and implements opportunities to enhance reporting, visualization, and insight generation
- Supports strategic initiatives through financial and competitive analysis
- Develops and maintains competitive intelligence reporting, including analysis of peer financial performance, capital positions, and strategic positioning within the reinsurance market
- Monitors and synthesizes competitor activity (earnings releases, investor presentations, regulatory filings, rating agency updates) to identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities
- Supports benchmarking of company performance versus peers (e.g., ROE, combined ratios, growth, capital efficiency)
- Produces periodic market intelligence summaries highlighting key industry developments and implications for the business
- Partners with finance, underwriting, and strategy teams to incorporate competitive insights into executive reporting and decision-making
- This is not an exhaustive list, and the Analyst shall be expected to perform other duties as required
Skills
- Superior presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, concise messaging for executive audiences
- Demonstrated experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar) to drive automation and reporting efficiency
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret both quantitative and qualitative information
- Ability to execute on goals, prioritize competing demands, and meet highly structured deadlines
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- High attention to detail with strong data quality orientation
- Organized, proactive, collaborative, and able to work both independently and cross-functionally
- Familiarity with external data sources (e.g., AM Best, S&P Capital IQ, Moody's, broker reports, regulatory filings)
- Ability to translate market and competitive data into actionable business insights and strategic recommendations
- Strong business acumen and understanding of industry dynamics
- Bachelor's Degree Mathematics, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, Economics, Statistics, Finance, or related field
- 6+ years of professional job-related work experience
- Experience analyzing financial services, insurance, or reinsurance markets and competitors
