Mullen Coughlin LLC is a highly successful, fast-growing multi-country niche law firm focused exclusively on counseling organizations in the context of data privacy. The Conflicts Analyst will oversee and execute the conflicts process for new matters and employees, ensuring compliance and managing potential conflicts of interest.
Responsibilities
- Gathers information for verification of entity and party information including corporate affiliate research using a variety of resources
- Process requests for conflicts searches, perform necessary research, and complete business intake forms
- Identify potential risk, communicate potential resolution, and secure the necessary approvals for resolution
- Work with intake specialists and other team members to address time-sensitive issues
- Communicate with clients to obtain conflict waivers, managing follow-up as required
- Analyze and summarize conflict reports, escalate ethical conflicts and unresolved issues to Conflicts Committee, and resolve potential conflicts of interest
- Enter data into firm’s matter management system
- Clear conflicts which don’t exceed the analyst’s established authority
- Provides preliminary guidance and analysis for use in resolving potential issues and escalated conflicts
- Supports risk management and quality assurance efforts with the maintenance of databases and files
- Coordinate responses to complex client and matter information requests from a variety of internal customers
- Reconcile potentially adverse contacts maintained in the Firm’s database(s)
- Assist in the development and training of other employees
- Assist in the opening of new matters in the matter management system
- Communicate with external parties as part of the intake process
- Calendar management and call scheduling for internal and external parties
- Other tasks as reasonably assigned
Skills

- Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills
- Knowledge of corporate business structures, corporate family trees and affiliations
- Proficient in requisite office technology (i.e. MS Office, case management systems, etc.)
- J.D. or Paralegal with conflicts experience preferred
- Three (3) or more years' experience working with conflicts and conflicts databases in a law firm setting
