Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Acadium is an innovative, pet-focused nonprofit seeking a Content & SEO Apprentice to help build their content and search foundation. The role involves creating educational content for pet parents and supporting SEO efforts, providing a unique opportunity to gain experience in digital marketing.
Responsibilities
- Writing evergreen educational articles for pet parents (e.g., choosing an emergency veterinarian, managing unexpected veterinary expenses)
- Creating FAQ content and foundational 'Why We Exist' messaging
- Developing clinic recruitment assets, including one-page PDFs and landing page copy
- Conducting SEO health audits and establishing keyword baselines using Google Search Console
- Supporting content strategy with an emphasis on: 70% educational and trust-building content, 30% SEO and organic search foundation
Skills
- Must have a strong connection to pets or animal welfare (pet owner, rescue/fostering, volunteering, or related content work)
- Proven writing ability with a portfolio of published work (clear, empathetic, non-academic writing preferred)
- Basic to working knowledge of SEO (on-page SEO, keyword research, Google Search Console)
- Experience with WordPress/Elementor, Canva, and AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude) for content creation
- Must be available during West Coast US (Pacific Time) working hours
- Self-directed and able to work independently within a ~10 hrs/week commitment
- Genuine interest in nonprofit or mission-driven work
- Experience with Ahrefs or Semrush a plus
