The DMG Data Mining Analyst II will leverage technical expertise to extract insights from complex datasets and lead small projects while collaborating with various departments to align data-driven solutions with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Examine, interpret, and visualize trends in medical data to generate actionable insights that support new business processes and refine existing ones
- Create, Execute, maintain, and monitor SQL queries efficiently to meet business objectives
- Data optimization within big data environments by analyzing query execution plans, indexing large-scale datasets, and implementing data normalization/denormalization strategies to reduce latency and improve overall system efficiency
- Continuously evaluate and enhance data mining and enrichment processes, developing tools and programs to identify new opportunities
- Lead and manage small data projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery
- Work closely with other departments to align data insights with organizational goals
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or a related field
- Minimum of five years' expert experience with Microsoft SQL
- Experience with medical and pharmacy claims strongly preferred
- Advanced-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- SQL experience in a Big Data environment
- Ability to proactively develop innovative solutions while balancing multiple tasks
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work in a high-performing, collaborative environment
- Database administration, database development (non-ETL)
- Data warehousing experience
- Query optimization
- Experience with healthcare data highly desired
