They are seeking a Head of AI Operations & Governance to manage operational strategy, governance, and security of enterprise AI platforms, ensuring compliance and reliability as they scale across the business.
Responsibilities
- Lead the operational strategy and governance for enterprise AI platforms, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable production environments
- Oversee the lifecycle management of AI applications and platforms, including monitoring, maintenance, upgrades, and continuous improvement
- Manage software licensing, platform utilization, and cost optimization while partnering with finance and procurement teams
- Develop and maintain AI governance frameworks, including policies, standards, approval processes, and compliance requirements
- Monitor production health, usage trends, and performance metrics to identify optimization opportunities and guide future enhancements
- Coordinate incident response, issue resolution, and support activities across internal teams and external technology partners
- Partner with Security, IT, Legal, and business stakeholders to ensure AI platforms comply with organizational security and regulatory requirements
- Oversee AI platform integrations, APIs, connectors, authentication methods, and secure credential management
- Establish operational procedures, service level expectations, monitoring practices, and support documentation for enterprise AI platforms
- Develop audit, logging, and reporting capabilities to improve transparency, traceability, and governance of AI-enabled workflows
- Collaborate with AI engineering and business teams to ensure new solutions meet operational readiness and governance standards before production deployment
- Provide executive leadership with regular reporting on platform reliability, adoption, security posture, governance, and operational performance
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in platform operations, DevOps, AI/ML operations, enterprise SaaS administration, or related technical leadership roles
- Experience supporting production AI platforms, cloud services, or enterprise software environments
- Strong understanding of AI governance, security, compliance, risk management, and operational best practices
- Experience managing SaaS licensing, software utilization, vendor relationships, and technology cost optimization
- Hands-on knowledge of monitoring, observability, incident management, and operational support processes
- Familiarity with AI technologies, large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering concepts, and AI model lifecycle management
- Experience working with APIs, enterprise integrations, workflow automation, and cloud-based platforms
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to bridge technical and business teams
- Advanced degree preferred
- Experience building operational processes and governance standards within growing or evolving technology organizations is highly preferred
- Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or another regulated industry is a plus
