Trackly SMS is a lifecycle SMS platform built for marketers, and they are seeking their first commercial hire to own the go-to-market strategy. The role involves building relationships, managing the sales cycle, and creating a repeatable business development playbook.
Responsibilities
- Own outbound — identify, reach, and open conversations with performance networks, media buyers, ecomm operators, drop shippers, and anyone else who wants to send at scale compliantly
- Run the sales cycle end to end: discovery, demo, pricing, and close
- Work the floor at the events that matter — Affiliate World, Affiliate Summit, major CPaaS conferences and more
- Get new accounts live and sending fast, in partnership with Customer Success
- Bring market intelligence back inward — what operators need, what competitors do, where pricing bites
- Build the repeatable BD playbook the next hires will run
Skills
- You know the performance marketing world. You've spent time inside it — a network, an agency, a publisher, or a vendor selling into it — and you talk to operators as a peer
- You understand SMS (and email). Not as an engineer, but fluently — deliverability, compliance, aggregators, 10DLC/toll-free, and why they hit a sender's bottom line
- A real network in these communities — people who take your call
- Excellent written and verbal communication (your cold email should be good enough to get you hired on its own)
- A genuine shmoozer's instinct — you like people, you work a room, you build trust fast
- Comfort owning a number with autonomy in an early-stage environment
- Willingness to travel to industry events (roughly one to two per quarter)
- Existing relationships with large volume senders
- Experience selling martech, SaaS, or messaging/CPaaS products
- A track record of being early somewhere and building process where none existed
