Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Illinois Legal Aid Online is seeking an Intake Coordinator for The Village Legal and Community Project. The Intake Coordinator will manage the initial client intake process, ensuring accurate assessments and connections to legal staff for services.
Responsibilities
- Client Assistance: Answer intake phone line and review online application for legal services, check voicemails, and timely return calls
- Initial Screening: Conduct telephone interviews to gather basic case information, assess eligibility, and determine if the client’s needs align with the organization’s services
- Case Management: Register clients in the electronic case management system, enter and maintain client records, and track all calls
- Referral & Scheduling: Offer referrals to other services if appropriate, and schedule initial consultations with attorneys or paralegals
- Administrative Support: Perform clerical tasks such as mailing communications, copying, or scanning documents, maintaining case files, and preparing reports
- Support for Legal Teams: Assist attorneys and outreach staff with intake-related administrative duties to keep operations running smoothly
Skills

- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and case management systems
