Our client is seeking a strategic and analytical Remote Logistics and Supply Chain Network Designer to optimize their global distribution and warehousing operations. This fully remote position allows you to leverage your expertise to reshape supply chain networks from anywhere in the US. You will be responsible for analyzing existing logistics infrastructures, identifying opportunities for network optimization, designing efficient distribution strategies, and implementing solutions that reduce costs, improve service levels, and enhance overall supply chain resilience. A strong understanding of network modeling software, logistics operations, and data analysis is essential. Key Responsibilities: Design, model, and optimize end-to-end supply chain and logistics networks, including facility location, transportation routes, and inventory placement. Analyze current logistics operations to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and cost-saving opportunities. Utilize advanced network modeling and optimization software to simulate different network scenarios. Develop business cases and present findings and recommendations for network changes to senior leadership. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, procurement, IT) to ensure successful implementation of network designs. Evaluate and select optimal transportation modes and carriers to meet service level requirements and cost objectives. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure network performance and identify areas for continuous improvement. Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in supply chain and logistics network design. Manage multiple network design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic goals. Work effectively within a remote team structure, utilizing collaboration tools for communication and project management. Ensure network designs are resilient, scalable, and adaptable to changing market dynamics. Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Logistics, or a related quantitative field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, network design, or operations research. Proven experience in designing and optimizing complex logistics and supply chain networks. Proficiency with network design and optimization software (e.g., Llamasoft/Coupa, AnyLogic, Gurobi). Strong analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills. Expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, and interpretation of large datasets. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently and manage complex projects effectively in a remote environment. Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
