New Talent is a rapidly expanding organization in the Charleston, SC area, seeking a high-caliber accounting professional for a newly created Accounting Manager/Senior Accountant & Financial Reporting position. This role involves a blend of technical financial accounting and financial reporting, focusing on building and standardizing accounting processes across a multi-entity organization while providing significant career advancement potential.
Responsibilities
- Own key components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process while receiving mentorship from an experienced finance leadership team
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger across multiple entities
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and related footnote disclosures under U.S. GAAP
- Assist with monthly management reporting and financial analysis
- Support external audits, including PBC schedules and technical accounting documentation
- Lead process improvements, automation initiatives, and accounting standardization efforts
- Support and lead internal controls and technical accounting projects
- Work closely with senior finance leadership on high-impact accounting initiatives
Skills
- Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and some type of financial reporting experience
- Experience with ERP systems (Familiarity) and advanced Excel skills are expected
- Current or former public accounting professionals (Big 4 or Top 40 CPA firms preferred, but if you are an outlier with applicable experience, please apply)
- Some experience in preparing consolidated financial statements, but NOT A DEAL BREAKER
- Multi-entity accounting experience is a plus, but NOT A DEAL BREAKER
- Manufacturing or industrial experience is helpful but not required
- CPA or CPA-track candidates are attractive, but NOT A DEAL BREAKER; experience trumps all
