Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Onward Technologies Limited is seeking a Methods Engineer to join their Tooling team within the Engineering department. The role involves performing calculations and designing tools for hydropower plant equipment, while coordinating with various project teams to ensure project execution meets planning, cost, and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform the calculation and the design of the tools according to the COE’s Design Practices and with the validation of the tooling principal engineer
- Represent the Tooling Center of Excellence (COE) in front of the Project Team: Generator System Integrator, Generator COE main project engineers, Supply Chain and Construction & Commissioning
- Coordinate within the Tooling COE the calculation and design of the full list of tools identified during synopsis phase (detailed transportation & erection sequence of the power plant) – fulfilling planning, cost, and safety requirement
Skills
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience
- Significant experience (>5 years) in mechanical design of hydro generators
- Experience in design of lifting equipment and access platform or significant experience on site
- Good knowledge of CAD software NX or SolidWorks
- Excellent written & verbal English skills for international communications
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional and global teams
- Strong people skills, proven leadership skills and a positive energy
- Knowledge of Hydropower Plant products
- Experience on project management
- Team-player: positive & engaged contributor to the team, willingness to learn & adapt to business needs; be resilient
