Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. PTR Global is seeking a Network Security Engineer to join their Network Security team. The role involves designing and developing security solutions while also managing cloud security operations and ensuring adherence to infrastructure standards.
Responsibilities
- The Network Security team within the Network Engineering organization designs and supports client’s Network Security technologies

- As a Network Engineer (Engineer 2), candidates will be responsible for using your technical knowledge of professional concepts to solve business problems
- Client is looking for a talented individual that can serve as a subject matter expert in their area of focus and represent their department on complex assignments
- Candidates will be responsible for evaluating elements of technology’s effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research and investigation and make recommendations for improvements that result in increased quality and effectiveness
- Candidates will be required to listen to and evaluate customer needs to determine and provide high quality solutions that align with customer expectations
- This engineer will also be responsible for:
- Palo Alto Network firewall configuration
- Administration of next-gen firewall platforms and other related security technologies
- Performing security analysis on solutions end-to-end
- Ensuring existing infrastructure and configuration standards are adhered to when delivering projects
- Managing cloud security operations, including identity & access control, secure configuration management, network security, Infrastructure as Code, data security, and logging
- Risk assessment and analysis
Skills
- Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by client's company for this position now or in the future
- Must reside in the United States (does not include Alaska or Hawaii)
- Must be able to work a schedule within U.S. Central Standard Time core business hours
- 3 plus years related engineering experience
- 2 plus year experience of network and cloud security (AWS/AZURE)
- Experience in developing and maintaining documentation to include architectural drawings, technical standards and operational standards
- Hands-on experience with design, deployment, and administration of Palo Alto Next-gen Firewall technologies
- Effective commutation skills with the ability to interact across multiple teams and across varying technical and leadership levels
- Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
- Building and administering security devices such as data loss prevention systems, and intrusion prevention systems
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
- Understanding of scripting and content creation such as Splunk dashboards and threat signature creation
- Performing security analysis on solutions end-to-end, including identifying gaps and recommending and implementing configuration changes
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform
- Experience with firewall policy auditing and monitoring tools such as Firemon
- Experience with Cisco FirePower
- Experience with Palo Alto Next-gen firewalls
