Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking a Nuclear Analysis Engineer to join their Nuclear Services Group. In this role, you will develop nuclear and mechanical safety analysis work products supporting licensing, design, and operability of nuclear power and fuel cycle facilities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare calculations, evaluations, engineering change packages, and licensing documents associated with mechanical, nuclear or chemical safety analysis
- Provide technical support and develop licensing documents for Safety Analysis Reports (SAR), Integrated Safety Assessments (ISA), or license amendment requests (LAR) related to nuclear analysis licensing submittals
- Develop and assess the nuclear facility safety programs, design basis documents, key calculations, processes and procedures in accordance with current design and regulatory requirements and expectations (USNRC & DOE)
- Perform shielding and radiological evaluations using diverse methods and models for applications including shielding for people, structures, and components
- Perform criticality safety assessments to support the nuclear fuel cycle including conversion, enrichment, fabrication, new fuel storage, spent fuel storage and decommissioning
- Perform technical analyses of nuclear fuel performance and core behavior based on mechanical design of BWR and PWR fuel
- Support plant operational needs through evaluation of reload changes based on established licensing methodologies
- Perform atmospheric dispersion, deposition and plume analyses associated with normal and accident effects of radiological, chemical and thermal releases to the environment
- Evaluate nuclear and industrial facility hazards including radiation, explosion, smoke and toxic gas for access, habitability, safe shutdown, environmental and public safety concerns
- Participate in and support client peer reviews, expert panels and NRC audits
- Collaborate with discipline and client counterparts to ensure project clarity
- Develop technical proposals and support business development as required
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering degree
- Requires a minimum of 3+ years of experience of safety analysis work in a nuclear environment
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Interest in application of technical skills to unique, varied and challenging engineering problems
- Willing to travel to a plant site for meetings and/or assignment. Assignments vary based on project and client needs, ranging from a few weeks to several months
