Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. CyberCoders is a specialized engineering group within a larger company focused on power generation and thermal systems. They are seeking a Remote Sr. Mechanical Engineer to perform thermodynamic modeling, develop mechanical design packages, and collaborate with engineering teams for large scale power projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform thermodynamic modeling, heat balance analysis, and cycle performance evaluations for behind-the-meter and combined cycle power systems
- Develop mechanical design packages for HRSG components, rotating equipment, piping systems, heat exchangers, and balance of plant systems surrounding the turbine island
- Support engineering reviews, design coordination, and occasional site visits for equipment assessments, construction walkdowns, and technical validation
- Prepare engineering documentation including P and IDs, equipment datasheets, mechanical specifications, and system integration deliverables for large scale power projects
- Collaborate with electrical, controls, and project engineering teams to ensure system compatibility, constructability, and performance across all phases of design and execution
Skills
- Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering w/ 5+ years of experience in thermal power, combined cycle, or utility scale plant design
- Strong understanding of gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, heat transfer, and thermodynamic cycle modeling for power generation applications
- Perform heat balance modeling for combined cycle plants, including HRSG integration, steam turbine performance, and gas turbine exhaust energy recovery
- Design mechanical systems surrounding the turbine island, including condensers, feedwater systems, pumps, and heat exchangers
- Experience with ASME codes, piping design, rotating equipment, and high energy mechanical systems within balance of plant environments
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, equipment specifications, and plant system documentation for large scale power projects
- For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa
- Preferred experience with consulting engineering, EPC environments, or field engineering supporting power generation facilities
- P.E. license strongly preferred, with reciprocity accepted across multiple states
