Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Mercy is seeking a Research Project Manager (RPM) – Data Management Support to enhance their research capabilities. The role involves managing project coordination, supporting clinical research activities, and facilitating communication between various departments to ensure successful data management.
Responsibilities
- Manage the overall coordination, status reporting, financials, schedules and stability of project-oriented work efforts, ensure that project goals and objectives are met within agreed upon time, scope and resource requirements
- Maintain status reports and project metrics and appropriately triage and categorize all incoming work
- Understand dependencies between project issues, external influences, etc. and act to develop remedies as needed
- Interact significantly with project team members (business, clinical and technical team members), vendors, finance personnel, and Mercy multiple functional or support departments
- Share information with coworkers and encourage coworker participation in Mercy Research activities
- Provide information to project team members regarding operational, change management, and trial management strategies and opportunities
- Develop, maintain and facilitate the usage of various datasets, databases and medical records systems necessary to facilitate study start-up, conduct and support
- Support clinical research activities by serving as the primary resource for data acquisition, extraction, and management using standard clinical data platforms such as SlicerDicer, Reporting Workbench, and REDCap
- Act as the key liaison between Mercy Technology Services (MTS), the Research - Enterprise Data and Analytics Office Value Delivery Team (Research VDT), and Mercy Research, including direct communication with research investigators
- Promote research data literacy by assisting with education and training initiatives for Mercy Research caregivers and investigators
- Leading communication between MTS, EDAO, and Mercy Research to ensure seamless collaboration and understanding across departments
- Interpreting and translating the needs of various stakeholders to support interdepartmental requests and discussions
- Tracking and analyzing data trends to identify opportunities for programmatic improvement
- Representing Mercy Research in meetings with legal, financial, vendor, and technology teams
- Facilitating exploratory meetings with investigators and VDT members to clarify study needs
- Utilizing Microsoft Office, project management platforms, clinical data tools, and network-approved AI solutions to enhance daily workflows
- Operating independently in a dynamic environment where creative problem-solving and innovative thinking are highly valued
Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years healthcare or clinical experience demonstrating capabilities and success applicable to the role. Demonstrated experience may be gained from prior roles, through completion of college degrees, or a combination of applicable professional and educational experiences
- Excellent communicator, both orally and in writing
- Superior organizing and coordinating skills
- Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage complex relationships
- Able to manage multiple, simple to moderately complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Clinical research skills, understanding, and practice experience
- Ability to prepare and analyze research reports and proposals
- Perform designated database management with skills
- Self-starter who enjoys creating and innovating in a hands-on manner, adapting quickly to any situation
- Comfortable working in an environment where ideas are shared and challenged
- Strong business acumen and judgment
- Facilitates work in an open and collaborative style
- Advanced degree or Bachelor's degree with a professional certification relevant to health project management
- 5 years of experience in business development with project management expertise in a healthcare environment
- Professional certification in a research or project management area
