The Senior Accountant will maintain financial reporting integrity, oversee general ledger operations, and ensure compliance within a fast-growing healthcare technology environment, contributing to monthly close and process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes , ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports , including detailed variance analysis
- Own balance sheet reconciliations , ensuring completeness, accuracy, and audit readiness
- Manage general ledger activity , including journal entries, accruals, and subledger integrations
- Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, FP&A, HR, and IT) to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies; support regulatory and audit requirements
- Prepare audit schedules and act as a key liaison for external auditors
- Drive process improvements and internal controls , including system enhancements and automation initiatives
- Support tax compliance and filings as needed (e.g., sales/use tax, property tax, R&D credits)
- Assist with system implementations, upgrades, and optimization of accounting workflows
- Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to a collaborative, high-performance team environment
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- 3+ years of hands-on general ledger accounting experience in an operating company
- Strong technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP
- Proven experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel proficiency
- Systems-oriented mindset, including experience with system implementations, upgrades, or process automation
- Demonstrated ability to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls
- Public accounting experience (Big 4 or regional firm strongly preferred)
- Experience within healthcare technology, SaaS, life sciences, or similarly complex environments is strongly preferred
- NetSuite strongly preferred
