Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Branch is on a mission to make insurance more accessible, utilizing data, tech, and automation to simplify the insurance process. They are seeking a Senior Product Management Specialist to own a core area of their software products, focusing on integrations and API partnerships, while driving product strategy and execution.
Responsibilities
- Take Ownership: Own the roadmap and lifecycle for your area, starting with integrations and the API partnerships that drive quoting reach
- Manage Complexity: Break down abstract business goals into actionable technical requirements, and operate with confidence when priorities shift and direction is ambiguous
- Data-Driven Decisions: Define success metrics (KPIs) for your products and use data to prioritize. Proactively find opportunities in the data and bring them forward, rather than waiting for the business to flag a problem. Run research as an ongoing practice, not a one-off
- Leadership: Act as the primary product lead for a development team and its stakeholders, with the credibility to direct the work and be taken seriously
- Agile Management: Manage backlogs, roadmaps, and planning, and ensure the team has a steady stream of "ready" work
- Quality Control: Ensure the output meets the quality standards expected by our users and stakeholders
- Continuous Improvement: Participate actively in internal conversations on process improvement. We want you to help write the playbook, not just follow it
- Work Smart with AI: Use AI tools to accelerate research, analysis, and reporting so more of your time goes to judgment and decisions
- Documentation: Contribute to internal documentation, creating clarity for stakeholders and future team members
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Design, Marketing, Sales, and Service to make sure we are working on the right things at the right time
- Mentorship & Learning: Collaborate with leadership and peers, pass on what you know, and keep upskilling by soliciting feedback
Skills
- Technical Fluency: You understand what an API is, what it does, and what it enables. You can hold credible conversations with engineers and translate technical constraints to business stakeholders. You do not need to be a developer
- Experience: 3-5 years of direct experience managing digital products (Web, Mobile, or SaaS)
- Data Literacy: Comfortable using data and research to identify and prioritize opportunities. This is not optional in this role
- Agile Experience: Proven track record of delivery in an agile environment (managing backlogs, sprints, and standups)
- Self-Direction: A self-starter who identifies opportunities and drives them, rather than waiting for direction
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication; the presence to command a room and direct a team
- Experience with integrations or API partnerships (comparative raters, national agency platforms), or experience in insurance or a regulated industry. A plus, not a requirement
