Hays is a well-established and growing general contractor known for delivering federal and DOD construction projects across the East Coast. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing federal construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring compliance with federal standards and maintaining client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Oversee federal/DOD construction projects across multiple locations
- Maintain direct communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance
- Step into the field as needed to resolve issues and support project teams
- Travel periodically (every 6–8 weeks for 1–2 days) to visit project sites in Southern VA (Hampton Roads, Norfolk, Quantico) and NC (Camp Lejeune, Cherry Point)
Skills
- 7+ years of experience managing federal/DoD construction projects
- Proven ability to run projects independently as a lead PM
- Willingness to be hands-on and step into field operations when needed
- Strong understanding of federal construction processes and compliance
- U.S. Citizenship with eligibility for base access (DBIDS) or active clearance
- Proficiency with tools such as USACE RMS 3.0, Primavera P6, Procore, Kahua, or MS Project
- Strong communication and leadership skills
