Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Cognizant is a technology and engineering company seeking a ServiceNow Technical Consultant. In this role, you will design, develop, and configure high-quality solutions across the ServiceNow platform while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to enhance IT service management and asset management capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement ServiceNow solutions, including Service Catalog workflows, ITIL processes, and ITAM modules
- Develop integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using APIs and web services
- Extend and enhance the ServiceNow data model to support CMDB, AMDB, SACM, and related modules
- Perform development, testing, and debugging using JavaScript and server‑side scripting
- Provide 2nd/3rd level support, resolving incidents, defects, and enhancement requests
- Review designs, validate test scenarios, and ensure overall solution quality
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and implementation details
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders, providing updates and supporting delivery execution
- Mentor junior team members (for experienced candidates), ensuring adherence to best practices and high‑quality delivery standards
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience with the ServiceNow platform
- Experience developing and configuring ServiceNow solutions across ITSM/ITAM or related modules
- Strong technical skills in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and ServiceNow scripting
- Experience building integrations using REST APIs or web services
- Knowledge of ITIL processes, CMDB, and asset management concepts
- Experience working in Agile environments and across the software development lifecycle
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
- ServiceNow certifications such as Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Application Developer
- Experience across multiple ServiceNow product lines beyond ITSM
- Exposure to platform governance, data model design, and enterprise integrations
- Experience mentoring junior developers or contributing to technical leadership
- Strong stakeholder communication skills, including translating technical concepts for non‑technical audiences
