Our client, a dedicated provider of educational services committed to supporting diverse learning needs, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Remote Special Education Teacher specializing in Early Intervention. This role is critical in providing personalized educational support to young children (ages 0-3) and their families, helping them achieve developmental milestones. As a fully remote position, you will conduct virtual assessments, develop Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), and deliver specialized instruction and therapies via teletherapy platforms. The ideal candidate is adept at creating engaging virtual learning experiences, possesses strong communication skills to connect with families, and has a thorough understanding of early childhood development and special needs.
Responsibilities:
Conduct virtual developmental assessments to identify the needs of infants and toddlers. Develop and implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) in collaboration with families and a multidisciplinary team. Deliver specialized early intervention services via teletherapy, including direct instruction, consultation, and parent training. Create and adapt engaging, age-appropriate learning activities and materials for virtual delivery. Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate and timely records in compliance with regulations. Collaborate effectively with families, therapists, and other service providers in a remote setting. Provide support and guidance to families on strategies to promote their child's development at home. Stay current with best practices, research, and technological advancements in early intervention and teletherapy. Maintain confidentiality of all student and family information. Participate in virtual team meetings and professional development opportunities. Ensure all services are delivered in accordance with state and federal regulations (e.g., IDEA Part C).
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, or a closely related field. Master's degree preferred. Valid state teaching license with an Early Childhood Special Education endorsement or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of experience providing early intervention services. Proficiency in using teletherapy platforms and educational technology tools. Strong understanding of child development, disabilities, and best practices in early intervention. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills, especially for engaging with families remotely. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain strong organizational skills in a remote work environment. Experience developing and implementing IFSPs. Access to a reliable internet connection and a suitable home office environment. Knowledge of IDEA Part C regulations.
