Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Neos Consulting Group is seeking a Sr. Data Integration Business Analyst for a long-term contract role with a client in Austin, TX. This role will bridge business and technical teams by establishing a comprehensive data foundation, defining integration strategies, and translating complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements for system design and vendor implementation.
Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive, vendor-ready data map by inventorying TEA and external data systems and documenting:
- Data sources
- Data ownership
- Data formats
- Dependencies
- Data integration requirements
- Assess data quality across systems by identifying:
- Gaps
- Inconsistencies
- Duplications
- Standardization needs
- Recommend data cleansing and validation strategies
- Design a scalable data integration strategy that improves:
- Data accessibility
- Interoperability
- Usability
- Long-term sustainability
- Align data integration strategy with TEA's implementation of the Ed-Fi Data Standard
- Serve as the Business Analyst for OnePlan by:
- Gathering business requirements
- Analyzing business requirements
- Documenting business and system requirements using Modern Requirements
- Developing process flows
- Documenting skip logic
- Defining system interdependencies
- Creating user interface mock-ups
- Translating business needs into functional requirements for vendor design and development
- Support broader IDS initiatives including:
- LASO
- GSA
- OneSystem
- Other related workstreams
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in related fields such as: Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Data Analyst leading requirements gathering, business process analysis, and functional documentation for technology implementation projects
- Experience analyzing complex data environments, documenting data sources and integrations, and developing data governance, data quality, and integration strategies
- Strong ability to translate business needs into clear functional requirements and collaborate effectively with cross-functional business, technical, and vendor teams
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- 8 years business requirements gathering, functional requirements documentation, and business process mapping
- 8 years data mapping, data analysis, data quality assessment, data governance, and data integration
- 3 years documenting system integrations, APIs, ETL processes, and data flows
- 3 years proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio (or equivalent), and Microsoft Office Suite
- 3 years proficiency with SQL and business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI
- 2 years proficiency with requirements management and project tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, and Modern Requirements
- 2 years proficiency with the Ed-Fi Data Standard and data interoperability frameworks
- 1 year experience working with state agencies, the education sector, or related fields
