The Strategic Account Executive (SAE) is responsible for driving revenue growth and ensuring client satisfaction through effective relationship management and strategic account planning.
Responsibilities
- Establish rapport, trust, and credibility with key clients through regular communication, meetings, and personalized interactions. Act as a bridge between the client and the organization, ensuring their needs are understood and addressed effectively. Coordinate with client-facing team members to ensure seamless client execution and transparency
- Gain deep insights into the client’s business objectives, challenges, and pain points. Use this understanding to tailor solutions and offerings that align with the client’s strategic goals
- Develop and continuously evolve strategic account plans, outlining objectives, goals, and action steps to maximize value and achieve mutual success. Adjust plans based on changing client needs and market conditions
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding the organization’s footprint within key accounts. Propose value-added solutions leveraging industry trends and the client’s business landscape
- Lead contract negotiations, pricing, and agreements, ensuring a win-win approach that meets both customer expectations and business objectives. Maintain a strong sales pipeline and cultivate key customer relationships
- Proactively identify and address potential risks, such as competitive threats and market fluctuations. Develop and implement contingency plans to ensure business continuity and mitigate execution gaps
- Work closely with internal teams, including Operations, Growth & Strategy, and Product Technology, to deliver value to key accounts. Facilitate cross-functional teamwork to ensure a cohesive client-servicing approach
- Provide prompt customer service and support, addressing both internal and external needs swiftly. Be available to travel as necessary to meet business and customer requirements
- Serve as the key point of contact for clients, ensuring seamless communication and coordination between the organization and internal teams
- Deliver regular reports, updates, and forecasts to management, providing transparency into account progress, opportunities, and challenges. Stay informed about industry trends and competitive intelligence to offer valuable insights
Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of applicable industry experience
- In-depth understanding of specialty chemical products, applications, and industry trends
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-centric approach
- Proficiency in collaborating with cross-functional teams and coordinating information transfer
- Proficient in applications used for data analysis, reporting, and effective communication
- Must complete and pass all required pre-employment screenings
- Bachelor's degree preferred
