Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Adaptive Insurance is seeking a Territory Sales Manager to drive growth of their independent agency and broker distribution. The role involves building relationships with agency partners, executing territory plans, and collaborating cross-functionally to enhance agent experiences.
Responsibilities
- Prospect, appoint, and onboard new independent agency partners across your assigned territory
- Build trust-based relationships with agency principals and producers to keep Adaptive top of mind in their daily sales conversations
- Develop and execute a territory plan that identifies growth opportunities and prioritizes time and resources for maximum impact
- Drive submission, quote, and bind activity to meet premium production and profitability goals
- Represent Adaptive at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to expand our agency network
- Track and report on territory KPIs, adjusting strategy based on performance trends
- Partner with underwriting and operations to resolve agent issues quickly and support a seamless agent experience
- Share agent and market feedback with product and leadership to inform how we grow and what we build
- Support the development of agent-facing materials and enablement resources
Skills
- 5+ years of experience in insurance sales, agency distribution, or territory management, ideally within specialty, commercial, or P&C lines
- Proven track record of prospecting, appointing, and growing production with independent agents or brokers
- Self-directed and ownership-oriented, with the ability to build a territory strategy from scratch
- Strong relationship-builder who can earn trust quickly and communicate with clarity
- Comfortable with travel within your territory and frequent in-person engagement with agency partners
- Experience with parametric, specialty, or climate/weather-risk insurance products
- Familiarity with wholesale, MGA, or program business distribution
- Background launching or scaling a territory at an early-stage carrier or MGA
- Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, risk management, or a related field
