Powerus is building a next-generation American autonomous systems platform designed to move, protect, and sustain critical assets in high-consequence environments. They are seeking a VP of Corporate & Financial Communications to lead the company’s external communications strategy across financial markets, corporate positioning, media engagement, and public company communications.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of Powerus’ corporate and financial communications strategy
- Manage external communications relating to public market activities, major corporate milestones, and strategic announcements
- Support Nasdaq-related communications processes and broader public company communications requirements
- Ensure communications activities align with SEC compliance standards and public disclosure best practices
- Partner closely with legal and executive leadership teams on review and approval processes for public-facing communications
- Develop and manage corporate messaging, executive positioning, and market narrative development
- Drive media relations activity across defense, aerospace, technology, financial, and mainstream business press
- Support investor-facing communications initiatives and broader market positioning efforts
- Oversee press releases, corporate statements, executive communications, briefing materials, and strategic messaging
- Help establish Powerus as a leading voice within autonomy, defense technology, and advanced manufacturing
- Coordinate communications during periods of heightened visibility, strategic transactions, or corporate events
- Utilize AI tools, automation platforms, and modern communications technologies to improve responsiveness, research, workflow efficiency, and content execution
- Support internal alignment between corporate communications, branding, marketing, investor relations, and operational leadership teams
Skills
- Significant experience in corporate communications, financial communications, investor relations communications, or public company communications environments
- Prior experience supporting a publicly traded company, public listing process, major transaction, or high-profile corporate growth environment
- Strong understanding of SEC disclosure considerations, public company communications protocols, and market-sensitive communications practices
- Experience managing media relations and executive communications within high-visibility industries
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics into clear and credible messaging
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-growth, and high-accountability environments
- Experience working cross-functionally with executive leadership, finance, legal, and marketing teams
- Strong judgment, discretion, and understanding of reputational risk management
- Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize AI tools, workflow automation platforms, and modern communications technologies to improve productivity and execution
- Bachelor's degree required
- Familiarity with defense, aerospace, manufacturing, government, or advanced technology sectors is advantageous
- Advanced degree advantageous
