Opportunity Overview
Handshake is looking for experienced renewable energy and environmental markets professionals to support AI research through flexible, part-time contract work. This is not a traditional job — you'll draw on your hands-on expertise in renewable generation analysis, forecasting, and REC markets to produce expert-level data and analytical outputs that help build AI training environments for the energy industry.
This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity you can take on alongside your current work.

• Apply your professional expertise to independently produce real analytical work outputs — such as renewable generation performance reports, forecast models, and REC verification documentation — in a structured, project-based format
• Use tools like WREGIS and AVEVA PI to complete tasks the way you would in your day-to-day role
• Deliver expert-level work that forms the foundation of AI training datasets for energy industry applications
• Complete tasks at your own pace with no set schedule or minimum hour requirement

• 2+ years of professional experience in renewable energy generation, forecasting, or environmental markets, in a role such as Renewable Generation Performance Analyst, Renewable Asset Forecasting Analyst, or REC / Environmental Markets Analyst
• Ability to independently produce work using WREGIS or AVEVA PI
• Hands-on experience with workflows such as renewable generation forecasting and performance reporting, and REC verification and retirement
• Bachelor's degree or higher required
• Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment
Application Process
• Create a Handshake account
• Upload your resume and verify your identity
• Get matched and onboarded into relevant projects
• Start working and earning
