This role offers an exciting opportunity to conduct comprehensive legal research, assist with document preparation, and provide notarial services that uphold the highest standards of accuracy and integrity. The ideal candidate will be passionate about law, possess excellent organizational skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem-solving are essential. As a key contributor, you will support various legal projects across multiple practice areas, including estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, immigration law, family law, securities law, tribal law, patent law, and more. This paid position provides valuable experience in legal research and administrative support within a professional law office setting. Duties • Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, iManage, and other legal research tools to support case development and legal analysis across diverse practice areas. • Draft, review, proofread, and transcribe legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, affidavits, and notarial certificates with precision and clarity. • Manage case files and document management systems to ensure accurate filing, data entry, and organization of legal records. • Assist with project management tasks related to ongoing litigation or legal initiatives by coordinating schedules, tracking deadlines, and maintaining detailed logs. • Perform notarization duties in accordance with state laws as a Notary Republic; verify identities and execute official documents with professionalism. • Support attorneys with administrative tasks including client interviews, scheduling appointments, answering phone inquiries with excellent phone etiquette, and organizing case materials. • Review legal documents for consistency, accuracy, and compliance; proofread for errors before final submission or filing. Experience • Prior paralegal experience or legal administrative experience is highly preferred; familiarity with law office procedures is essential. • Demonstrated knowledge of multiple practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), immigration law, family law, securities law, tribal regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, and litigation processes. • Proficiency in legal research platforms including Westlaw and LexisNexis; experience with document management systems like iManage or Clio is advantageous. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. • Excellent writing skills for drafting clear legal documents; proofreading and transcription abilities are necessary for accuracy. • Competency in using data entry tools and document review processes; familiarity with PCLaw or similar case management software is a plus. Effective interviewing skills for client interactions; professional demeanor coupled with strong clerical skills such as filing and data entry are vital.
