A propos du poste :
En tant que Responsable Solution (SM) chez OPAL-RT, vous agissez en intrapreneur au sein de votre segment de marché. Champion de votre domaine, vous définissez la vision, orientez les priorités stratégiques de votre portefeuille de solutions.
À l’interface entre marché, clients et organisation, vous transformez les opportunités en orientations d’affaires claires et en recommandations d’investissement structurées et argumentées. Vous collaborez étroitement avec les Product Managers, la R&D, le Marketing, les Ventes, le Service et les Opérations afin d’assurer la cohérence des solutions et leur impact durable sur la performance globale. Vous définissez le cap stratégique du segment, tandis que les Product Managers pilotent l’exécution produit.
Ce rôle exige une combinaison rare de vision stratégique, compréhension technologique, sens du marché et capacité d’influence dans un environnement à forte complexité.
Responsabilités principales:
- Vision, stratégie & orientation du segment : Définir le positionnement et les axes de développement du segment en identifiant tendances, besoins émergents et opportunités de croissance. Traduire ces orientations en priorités claires pour les Product Managers afin d’assurer la cohérence des solutions et des investissements technologiques. Prioriser selon l’impact stratégique et économique.
- Structuration d’offre & compétitivité : Définir la proposition de valeur, contribuer à la stratégie de prix et structurer et faire évoluer l’offre (bundles, configurations, partenariats, packaging) afin d’optimiser la différenciation, la valeur perçue et la performance du segment.
- Leadership client & écosystème : Représenter la voix du marché, structurer les besoins des clients stratégiques, suivre la concurrence et développer des relations et partenariats clés contribuant à la croissance du segment.
- Performance & arbitrages stratégiques : Suivre les indicateurs de performance du segment (croissance, adoption, compétitivité, rentabilité), analyser les écarts et recommander les ajustements nécessaires. Contribuer aux arbitrages d’investissement en s’appuyant sur des analyses structurées et des logiques de retour sur valeur.
- Alignement transverse : Assurer la coordination entre départements afin de maintenir l’alignement stratégique, faciliter la prise de décision et soutenir l’exécution des priorités.
Exigences:
Formation et expérience professionnelle
- Diplôme universitaire en génie électrique, logiciel ou domaine connexe
- MBA, maîtrise en gestion, stratégie ou innovation (fortement valorisé)
- 9+ ans d’expérience pertinente dans l’industrie, incluant une responsabilité directe sur une ligne de produit, une solution ou un segment de marché
- Expérience combinant expertise technique et responsabilités orientées marché (gestion de produit, développement de solutions, ventes techniques, stratégie ou équivalent)
- Expérience en analyse de marché, structuration d’offres, positionnement stratégique et recommandations d’investissement
Compétences techniques
- Compréhension solide du marché de l’énergie et des technologies de simulation
- Capacité à relier besoins marché, tendances technologiques et contraintes produit
- Maîtrise des concepts de cycle de vie produit, segmentation, modèles de valeur, pricing et dynamique concurrentielle
Compétences professionnelles
- Vision stratégique, sens politique et capacité à influencer à tous les niveaux. Aptitude à arbitrer entre vision long terme, demandes clients, contraintes techniques et impact stratégique
- Solides compétences en communication (FR/EN) : capable de vulgariser, d’inspirer, et de s’adapter à des audiences variées, à l’interne comme à l’externe
- Leadership transversal, aptitude à fédérer sans autorité hiérarchique
- Pensée systémique et aptitude à structurer, simplifier et prioriser dans un contexte à forte complexité technique et stratégique
- Esprit analytique, rigueur financière (ROI, marges), orientation résultats
- Curiosité intellectuelle et gestion efficace d’un grand volume d’information
- Disponibilité à voyager jusqu’à 10 semaines par année

About the Position:
As a Solution Manager (SM) at OPAL-RT, you act as an intrapreneur within your market segment. As the champion of your domain, you define the vision and guide the strategic priorities of your solution portfolio.
Positioned at the intersection of the market, customers, and the organization, you transform opportunities into clear business directions and well-structured, well-argued investment recommendations. You work closely with Product Managers, R&D, Marketing, Sales, Service, and Operations to ensure solution coherence and long-term impact on overall performance. You set the strategic direction for the segment, while Product Managers lead product execution.
This role requires a rare combination of strategic vision, technological understanding, market insight, and the ability to influence within a highly complex environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Segment Vision, Strategy & Direction: Define the segment’s positioning and development priorities by identifying trends, emerging needs, and growth opportunities. Translate these directions into clear priorities for Product Managers to ensure alignment of solutions and technology investments. Prioritize initiatives based on strategic and economic impact.
- Offering Structure & Competitiveness: Define the value proposition, contribute to pricing strategy, and structure and evolve the offering (bundles, configurations, partnerships, packaging) to optimize differentiation, perceived value, and segment performance.
- Customer & Ecosystem Leadership: Represent the voice of the market, structure the needs of strategic customers, monitor competitive dynamics, and develop key relationships and partnerships that contribute to segment growth.
- Performance & Strategic Trade-offs:Monitor segment performance indicators (growth, adoption, competitiveness, profitability), analyze gaps, and recommend necessary adjustments. Contribute to investment trade-offs based on structured analyses and value-return logic.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Ensure coordination across departments to maintain strategic alignment, facilitate decision-making, and support execution of priorities.
Requirements:
Education & Professional Experience
- University degree in electrical engineering, software engineering, or a related field
- MBA or Master’s degree in management, strategy, or innovation (strong asset)
- 9+ years of relevant industry experience, including direct responsibility for a product line, solution, or market segment
- Experience combining technical expertise with market-facing responsibilities (product management, solution development, technical sales, strategy, or equivalent)
- Experience in market analysis, offer structuring, strategic positioning, and investment recommendations
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of the energy market and simulation technologies
- Ability to connect market needs, technology trends, and product constraints
- Solid knowledge of product lifecycle concepts, segmentation, value models, pricing, and competitive dynamics
Professional Skills
- Strategic vision, political acumen, and the ability to influence at all levels; ability to balance long-term vision, customer demands, technical constraints, and strategic impact
- Strong communication skills (French/English): able to simplify complex topics, inspire, and adapt to diverse internal and external audiences
- Strong cross-functional leadership and ability to lead without formal authority
- Systems thinking and ability to structure, simplify, and prioritize in a highly complex technical and strategic environment
- Analytical mindset, financial rigor (ROI, margins), and results-oriented approach
- Intellectual curiosity and ability to manage large volumes of information effectively
- Willingness to travel up to 10 weeks per year
