We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Director to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth, building strong client relationships, and providing strategic guidance to our customers. Your primary focus will be selling Yahoo’s premium sponsorship packages, programmatic media solutions, and performance-driven advertising offerings to agencies and brands, helping them achieve their marketing objectives across the funnel.
Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Revenue Generation:
• Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets.
• Identify and target potential clients, including agencies and brands, to promote the differentiated value and benefits of advertising with Yahoo across premium, programmatic, native, and performance media solutions.
• Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline and track opportunities to ensure consistent revenue growth.
• Drive adoption of programmatic and data-driven buying models, including private marketplaces (PMPs), programmatic guaranteed, and native formats, while continuing to unlock high-impact sponsorship and partnership opportunities.
• Collaborate with the broader sales organization and leadership team to develop effective go-to-market strategies.
Client Relationship Management:
• Establish and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers at client organizations, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Understand client business objectives, marketing goals, and challenges to propose tailored solutions across Yahoo’s premium content environments, programmatic marketplace, and performance-driven media offerings.
• Deliver compelling presentations that clearly communicate Yahoo’s capabilities and value.
• Provide exceptional service to ensure strong client satisfaction and long-term retention.
Consultative Selling and Solution Development:
• Analyze client needs and leverage expertise in digital advertising to develop customized partnership solutions across brand, programmatic, and performance campaigns.
• Advise clients on holistic media strategies that span premium sponsorships, programmatic activation, native advertising, and performance-driven media to support both brand awareness and lower-funnel outcomes.
• Partner closely with internal teams including operations, marketing, and product to ensure successful campaign execution and client outcomes.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive landscape, emerging technologies, and AI-driven capabilities, incorporating AI tools and insights into your workflow to identify opportunities, optimize campaign strategies, and deliver more effective marketing solutions for clients.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with Yahoo Consumer teams to share client feedback, contribute to product discussions, and identify opportunities to strengthen our advertising solutions.
• Collaborate with account management teams to ensure seamless onboarding, campaign delivery, and ongoing optimization for clients.
• Coordinate with finance and legal teams to support contract negotiations and ensure alignment with company policies.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred but not required (advanced degree a plus).
• Proven success in digital advertising sales, ideally within a publisher, platform, or ad tech environment.
• Strong understanding of premium display, programmatic buying (including PMPs and programmatic guaranteed), native advertising, and performance-driven digital media solutions.
• Familiarity with agency buying models, trading desks, DSPs, audience targeting strategies, and optimization approaches used in programmatic and performance media.
• Excellent sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with a consistent track record of exceeding revenue targets.
• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities with the capability to translate complex digital concepts into clear client value.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to inform strategy and drive results.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
