Senior Director, Client Portfolio Management (Public Health) Location: Remote (U.S.) East Coast Time Compensation: $180,000 – $215,000 Base Salary + 15% Bonus About the Opportunity We are seeking a strategic, client-focused leader to oversee a portfolio of public health and healthcare consulting engagements. This role operates as the business leader for a subset of our portfolio, balancing client success, financial performance, delivery excellence, and account growth. The successful candidate will function as a "mini CEO" for a portfolio of client accounts, serving as the executive relationship owner while ensuring strong business performance and successful delivery outcomes. This is not a traditional PMO, implementation, or internal operations leadership role. We are seeking a professional services leader who thrives at the intersection of client engagement, portfolio management, business growth, and delivery oversight. Key Responsibilities Portfolio Leadership & Business Management • Own the financial performance (Full P&L) of a portfolio of public health technology and healthcare consulting engagements • Monitor portfolio revenue, margins, utilization, profitability, and overall business health • Partner with delivery teams to ensure operational excellence and successful client outcomes • Identify risks and opportunities across the portfolio and drive corrective actions when needed • Operate as the senior business leader responsible for portfolio success Client Relationship Management • Serve as the executive point of contact for key client relationships • Build trusted advisor relationships with senior client stakeholders • Lead executive-level discussions regarding strategy, delivery, business priorities, and future opportunities • Develop a deep understanding of client goals and long-term priorities • Elevate relationships from service provider to strategic partner Portfolio Growth & Expansion • Identify opportunities to expand services within existing accounts • Increase wallet share through strategic account planning and relationship development • Partner with business development and leadership teams to pursue expansion opportunities • Support responses to government and public-sector healthcare opportunities as needed • Drive sustainable growth across the portfolio Delivery Oversight • Ensure teams are delivering against client commitments and contractual obligations • Monitor delivery performance, quality, and customer satisfaction • Partner with delivery leaders to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and client outcomes • Challenge assumptions and proactively address issues before they impact clients Required Qualifications • 8+ years of experience supporting public health, government healthcare, Medicaid, Medicare, CMS, HHS, state health agencies, or related organizations • Experience managing external client relationships and strategic accounts • Demonstrated ownership of portfolio financial performance, including revenue, margins, profitability, utilization, or P&L responsibility • Experience overseeing complex client engagements or service delivery organizations • Strong understanding of healthcare, public health, government healthcare, or healthcare technology environments • Exceptional communication, presentation, and executive stakeholder management skills • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and influence senior leaders Preferred Qualifications • Experience responding to government procurement opportunities and working within public-sector environments • Exposure to healthcare modernization, public health technology, interoperability, digital health, or health information systems What Success Looks Like Within the first year, this leader will: • Successfully manage a portfolio of strategic client accounts • Strengthen executive client relationships and expand trusted advisor status • Improve portfolio performance through effective financial and delivery oversight • Identify and execute growth opportunities within existing accounts • Serve as a respected business leader capable of balancing client success, delivery excellence, and financial performance The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate combines the business acumen of a portfolio executive, the relationship skills of a client partner, and the operational understanding of a professional services leader.
