Our client, a respected financial institution, is looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join their Banking Operations team in St. Louis, Missouri, US . This hybrid role offers a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility, focusing on enhancing financial planning, analysis, and reporting within the organization. You will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and the development of financial models that support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in financial software and reporting tools. You will work closely with various departments to gather financial data, interpret trends, and provide actionable insights to senior management. Responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning. Performing variance analysis and investigating discrepancies between actual results and planned/forecasted figures. Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and regulatory bodies. Analyzing financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, providing strategic recommendations. Supporting the annual budgeting process, including coordinating with department heads and consolidating budgets. Assisting in the preparation of financial presentations for executive leadership and the board of directors. Evaluating the financial impact of new business initiatives, products, and services. Improving financial reporting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements. Collaborating with accounting, treasury, and other finance teams to ensure data integrity. Mentoring junior analysts and contributing to team development. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, or banking. Strong understanding of financial planning & analysis (FP&A) principles. Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI). Experience with financial ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to present complex financial information clearly. Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. CFA or CPA designation is a plus.
