Senior Functional Analyst (Remote)
Position
Title: Senior Functional Analyst

Reports to: Director of Administrative
Applications Location: Remote from anywhere in the continental US, with the ability to travel to
campuses and other locations.
Compensation: Antioch University offers a competitive
compensation and benefits package that includes both direct and indirect pay. The compensation will be based on experience, education,
knowledge, credentials, and a consideration of the difficulty and complexity of the position. The salary range for this position is
$64,000.00 - $65,000.00.
Position Summary
Works independently with University
administrative staff to analyze problems or needs, and to develop solutions requiring novel uses of existing technology, integration of
multiple areas of technical expertise, or investigation and application of new technologies. Work across a variety of administrative areas
and information systems; however, a primary area of focus is the Colleague system from Ellucian and the administrative functions it
supports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provides daily production
support for administrative applications, both traditional and web based, which includes researching production issues and testing possible
solutions.
• Work with Administrative staff and other IT staff to design new business processes and new systems or enhancements to
existing systems to meet administrative needs. Responsibilities include defining requirements, selection/design of applicable solutions to
complex business problems and support of administrative needs of the campus community.
• Develops database applications and/or web
applications to support administrative needs of business and academic departments.
• Implements, integrates, tests and documents new
functionality in Colleague.
• Integrates departmental rules and policies related to information systems and recommends new and
improved programs to effectively manage the information systems functions.
• Designs and creates reports required to complete
routine and ad-hoc requests.
• Participate as member of committees related to identification, planning, and prioritization of
administrative computing needs for the campus or of the University system as a whole.
• Act as focal point for disseminating
information about university wide administrative computing directions to the appropriate campus staff and also for ensuring that campus
specific administrative computing needs are communicated to central IT
• Coordinates activities with departments to ensure
information systems needs are being met. This includes understanding the business process in the department and developing recommendations
for improving efficiency and productivity using university-computing resources.
• Assists with training in new processes and
retraining of existing processes related to administrative information systems. This could include development of training materials,
leading formal classroom training programs, or more informal one-on-one training as appropriate
• Must keep abreast of industry
trends and software changes.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director as appropriate to the position.
Experience and Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree in management information systems or related
information technology field; five years providing administrative application support and implementation; or an equivalent combination of
education and experience
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude
is expected.
• Proficient in software engineering concepts (requirements management, development models, testing and
documentation)
• Understand the physical and logical organization of Colleague data files and working knowledge of relational
database models, data definition and data manipulation using query languages
• Ability to clearly communicate technical information
to non-technical personnel in English, both written and verbally
• Flexible, adaptive and able to work in a fast-paced
environment
• Ability to work with committees and groups in planning and implementation of policies and projects
• Ability
to prioritize projects and tasks, as well as complete projects in a timely manner and within budget constraints. Demonstrated ability to
work with internal constituents and external organizations
• Ability to produce and contribute to planning, policy and training
documents
• Ability to effectively present plans, policies and technology topics to both technical and non-technical people
Hours of Employment
This is a full-time position serving a national university. A work
schedule will be established in consultation with the supervisor.
