Role Overview
The Customer On/Off‑Boarding (COB) platform is an enterprise‑wide service layer that exposes APIs to enroll and enable vehicle services on a customer’s vehicle. Built on a microservices and event‑driven architecture, COB orchestrates the entire lifecycle—from pre‑delivery preparation to post‑delivery activation—ensuring a smooth, reliable experience for every driver.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the COB team, you will design, develop, and maintain backend microservices that power this global platform. You will also mentor junior engineers, champion best practices, and occasionally step into a lead‑developer role when the situation calls for it.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop end‑to‑end microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and 12‑factor design principles.
- Participate in the full software lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Write clean, maintainable code and create comprehensive unit, integration, and performance tests.
- Automate build, test, and deployment pipelines using careerzynith DevOps tools (formerly TFS), Maven, Gradle, and Artifactory.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define API contracts, data models, and event schemas.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents within a DevOps framework, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Document technical artifacts such as configuration guides, installation manuals, and API reference material.
- Implement localization and globalization strategies to support multiple regions and languages.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying code‑quality gaps, security vulnerabilities, and performance bottlenecks.
- Mentor and coach junior developers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
- Lead design reviews and architectural discussions when acting as the lead developer on a feature or initiative.
