Role Description
Graders evaluate submitted student work for content, competency and adherence to the instructions and rubric for Spanish and/or French language courses. Graders are held to efficiency and quality goals.
- Accurately read and measure student competency based against a grading rubric.
- Provide the student with constructive, supportive and concise feedback.
- Complete grading rubrics and leave detailed feedback and comments for the learner.
- Check student submissions for plagiarism and for grammar.
- Provide in-context feedback and scoring using the Sophia-provided rubric.
- Participate in calibration efforts to ensure consistency of quality for our learners.
Qualifications
- Subject matter competency in Spanish and French language.
- Current or prior HS or Post-secondary teaching experience, preferably in Spanish and French language.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required; Master’s degree is preferred.

- Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

- Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
- Strong mental acuity.
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
