AI-Forward Apprentices (2 Openings) I’m looking for two high-agency apprentices to work directly with me across multiple startup projects. This is not a traditional internship. This is • building real companies • making real money • running real experiments • learning how things actually work If you’re looking for something structured, predictable, or safe — this is not that. Who You Are (or at least, who you’re becoming) You are • *AI-forward** • Not “I’ve used ChatGPT” • More like “my friends can’t believe the things I build with AI” You have • *high agency** • Not “I don’t take no for an answer” • More like “if it doesn’t violate the laws of physics, it’s probably possible” You are a • *fantastic communicator** • Not good • Not great • Fantastic You can translate chaos into clarity (bonus points: you enjoy it) You are a • *fast learner who likes learning** • Not just capable — you actually enjoy picking up new tools, systems, ideas You are • *excited by this** • Not mildly interested • Not “this could be cool” • You feel a pull toward this kind of opportunity ❌ This Is NOT For You If • You need step-by-step instructions for everything • You’re optimizing for comfort, stability, or predictability • You’re afraid of failure or looking stupid • You want a clean, linear career path • You get overwhelmed by ambiguity and don’t know how to move anyway What We’ll Be Doing • *Brand Building • I currently have 2 startups gaining first customers, ~6 startup projects pre-launch and another ~6 in pre-dev. We have a lot of work to do. • *Growth Hacking • Finding attention arbitrage, innovating GTM, chasing asymmetric upside • *Lean Startups • Concept → customer → revenue with minimal capital (sometimes zero) • *Failing (intentionally) • Most things will not work • That is expected • The goal is information, iteration, and leverage • (It’s not failure if the goal is learning) • *Managing Interns** • Not to get too meta with it, but I need help with interns. I have nearly infinite interns enthusiastic to help. I need help wrangling them, and managing the turnaround. • At a certain point this job is more of a management kind of role where you need to be able to not only get things done but also oversee other folks getting things done. What This Looks Like • Being an • *AI generalist** who uses tools to get things done efficently • Learning new tools, processes, and systems constantly • Taking initiative without waiting for permission • Wrangling chaos into something usable • Communicating frequently (Slack, async, occasional calls) • Helping manage people and systems as things scale ️ Who I Am Hi, I'm Grant Walker, founder of Catalyst House. (Look me up and send me a request - This is a test.) • I was a nerd before it was cool. My first computer was a Commodore 64 with a truly floppy disk. I was making websites in middle school in the 90s. • I have started at least a dozen businesses. Some did ok. Most failed or I got bored. • I am a multipotentialite autodidactical high agency phenom with a bad case of logophilia. You may have heard of "Jack of all trades, master of none", well I am more like "Ace of all trades, master of some". I've had several successful careers and I'm on bonus laps now. • I am entering my teaching era. After a quarter-century working in tech I have picked up a few things. My experiences in running workshops and training have been very rewarding and I'm looking to take on someone to teach some of the higher-level lessons to. If this doesn't work out I'll just write some books. • I am very into ethics, reciprocal energy, and non-coercivity. We will be helping each other and working together to build things that are mutually beneficial. I don't want either of us to be taking advantage of each other or trying to convince each other of things.
