Job Title: Structural Engineer (PE) – Residential Design | Remote Company: Above the Line Drafting (ATLD) Job Type: Full-Time (Remote) About Us: Above the Line Drafting is a young and growing residential design company specializing in garages, homes, ADUs, and additions across Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and surrounding areas. We are building a streamlined system that integrates architectural and structural design into one clean, builder-friendly plan set. We are looking to bring on a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join our team and grow with us long-term. Position Overview: This role will work directly with our drafting team to review residential plan sets, provide redlines, and stamp completed drawings. Our goal is to produce one coordinated set of plans rather than separate architectural and structural drawings, simplifying the build process for contractors. We have a consistent workflow of 2–3 projects per week and are looking for someone who can become a reliable, long-term part of the team. Key Responsibilities: - Review residential architectural drawings (garages, homes, ADUs, additions) - Provide redlines and structural direction - Coordinate with drafting team to finalize plans - Stamp completed drawing sets for permit submittal - Ensure compliance with applicable building codes and loads - Assist in refining and standardizing structural details/templates Qualifications: - Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) - Licensed in Colorado (required) - Willing to obtain licensure in Montana, Wyoming, and Utah - Experience with residential structural design - Strong understanding of IRC and light-frame construction - Ability to work collaboratively with a remote team - Clear communication and turnaround expectations Preferred Experience (Not Required): - Experience working with drafting teams using Revit - Familiarity with panelized or modular construction - Interest in helping build systems and templates for a growing company Schedule & Compensation: - Full-time (40 hours/week) - Fully remote - Consistent weekly workflow (2–3 projects/week) - Compensation based on experience (open to discussion) Why Join Us: - Opportunity to grow with a young and fast-moving company - Consistent project pipeline - Flexible, remote work environment - Ability to help shape systems, standards, and long-term direction If you're looking for a steady workflow and the opportunity to be part of a growing residential design company, we’d love to connect.
