System Administrator - Active Directory, Printers & Server Administration

Location: Harrisburg, PA 17110 Work Arrangement: Hybrid Interview Type: Virtual Schedule: 8AM to 5PM (hourlong lunch) Contract: 05/26/2026 - 06/30/2027 Visas Accepted: USC, GC, GC EAD, H1B Role Overview This position is assigned to the Bureau of Enterprise Technology Services Office currently supporting Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) and is located at PSP Department Headquarters. The resource functions as the technical expert and agency point of contact for infrastructure server administration, Active Directory, printer administration, and file/print server operations. This role supports IT staff and PSP business operations across facilities, field sites, Commonwealth managed data centers, and disaster recovery locations. Primary Responsibilities • Design and supervise solutions for Microsoft Active Directory including CUPSS administration, account provisioning, security groups, naming conventions, Group Policy Objects, and domain controller operations. • Support file share servers and print share servers including access control, auditing, permissions management, mapped drive troubleshooting, drive space management, file recovery, data restoration, file unlocking, server configuration correction, and server migrations. • Administer printer environments including print queue creation, printer server management, network printer setup, firmware deployment, printer software maintenance, driver updates, installation procedures, vendor coordination, and inventory support. • Act as liaison between the agency, internal IT teams, and vendors to resolve operational problems and maintain enterprise IT policy compliance. • Participate in disaster recovery planning, continuity of government operations, after-hours support, and special projects as assigned.
