Job description: Bethel School District in Eugene, OR is actively seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of 1.0 FTE Director of Teaching and Learning for Equity and Inclusion. This district leader will provide leadership in instruction, curriculum, and assessment with a focus on equitable access for all students, especially underserved populations. The position will have an emphasis on supporting equity, inclusion, and diversity programs in schools, but the Director will also organize and lead several preK-12 initiatives. These efforts will result in accelerated achievement for all students, regardless of their race, home language, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic situation, disability, or other protected class identity.

Nature of Work
The Director of Teaching and Learning: Equity and Inclusion serves on the leadership cabinet and works closely with senior leadership. As one of three Directors of teaching and learning, this leader collaborates with classified staff, teachers, and building administrators to plan, organize, facilitate, and provide leadership and support services to schools and programs. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the District's Equity and Inclusion efforts including, but not limited to cultural affinity spaces, curriculum, instruction, assessment, and ongoing professional development. The Director leads the development and implementation of effective strategies that build the knowledge, will, and skill of all Bethel staff to serve and support all students.

This position provides leadership for building administrators and equity teams by regularly reviewing and analyzing student data to develop systems of support that include integrated academic, behavioral, and social emotional support.

The Director collaborates with the district leadership team and building administrators to help craft and implement a vibrant vision for culturally responsive and trauma informed teaching and learning across the district. This vision ensures staff continue to strive to create welcoming, inclusive, and responsive learning environments for students, families, the community, and colleagues.
