About the position
The Web Developer II is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality web applications. This role involves collaborating with a team of developers to deliver robust and scalable web solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in web development, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
• Develop, test, and deploy high-quality web applications using PHP, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant web technologies
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other developers to create user-friendly and visually appealing web interfaces
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following best practices and coding standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
• Integrate third-party APIs and services into web applications
• Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback, mentorship, and support to junior developers
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsive design across all web applications
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to improve skills and knowledge continuously
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance
• Assist in the development of technical documentation, including user guides and API documentation
• Contribute to the improvement of the web development process and practices within the team
• Work efficiently to ensure uptime and optimum user experience
• Understanding of common web application security concerns and their mitigation
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in web development
• Proficiency in PHP, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Strong understanding of version control systems, such as Git
• Experience with web performance optimization
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
• Ability to handle challenging situations professionally
Nice-to-haves
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices
• Ability to write optimized SQL queries
• Knowledge of Linux administration is a plus
• Experience developing RESTful APIs is helpful
