Adjunct Faculty – FIN 315: Fundamentals of Corporate Finance Department: Business – Finance We are looking for industry professionals with the time and flexibility to work with us and our students. Requirements for Employment Eligibility: • Membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. • Worthiness to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend. • Receive clearance from the Church Educational System Ecclesiastical Clearance Office. • Strict adherence to company policies and procedures. • Commitment to bring about the purposes of Ensign College. • Reside in Utah and able to teach in person at our downtown Salt Lake City campus. Summary The Finance program seeks a part-time instructor (adjunct faculty) to teach our course on Fundamentals of Corporate Finance. This course covers the core principles of financial statements and long-term financial planning, valuation of future cash flows, capital budgeting, CAPM, risk and return, cost of capital, short-term financial planning, credit and inventory management, and essential topics in corporate financial management. The course emphasizes real-world application through financial modeling in Excel, worked case studies, and capital investment decision scenarios. The ideal candidate will bring professional finance experience and the ability to connect theory to practice in a student-centered classroom environment. Minimum Qualifications: • Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field. • Proven teaching ability at the college level and an understanding of collaborative learning and competency-based instruction. • Experience developing and implementing course content in Finance, particularly in corporate finance, capital budgeting, and valuation. • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, administrative, organizational, writing, and computer skills. • Ability to apply field-related skills to the development and/or advancement of course content and delivery. • Proficiency with Excel and financial modeling tools; familiarity with learning management systems preferred. Job Functions: • Complete all required training (FERPA, Title IX, etc.) • Review all instructional materials (Teaching plans, syllabi, etc.) • Support our unique learning and teaching framework. • Create and execute immersive learning opportunities. • Plan, prepare from and follow an approved course curriculum that includes measurable objectives for each course taught. • Creates and maintains a suitable environment for learning. • Focus class interactions on immersive discussions and activities. • Evaluate student learning using multiple means of assessment. • Maintain and submit timely and detailed student grade records. • Maintain a typical teaching load of one to three-semester classes as needed. • Attend one-on-ones and other meetings as necessary. • Communicate concerns, suggestions, and recommendations to the program chair. The objective of the Finance program is to prepare students for careers in financial analysis, corporate finance, banking, and the broader financial services industry. Upon completing the degree, students will be prepared to apply their knowledge and skills in various finance-focused careers.
