Job Description:
SHIFT: Monday - Thursday 8a - 5p and Friday 8a - 12p
Provides recovery education for every phase of the recovery journey, including pre-recovery engagement, recovery initiation, recovery stabilization, and sustained recovery maintenance.
Demonstrates that recovery is possible by providing a model for both people in recovery and staff. Assists recovering persons in identifying their personal interests, goals, strengths, and weaknesses regarding recovery.
Coaches recovering persons to develop their own plan for advancing their recovery.
Facilitates the transition from a professionally directed treatment plan to a self-directed Recovery Plan.
Promotes self-advocacy by helping recovering persons have their voices fully heard and their needs, goals, and objectives established as the focal point of rehabilitation and clinical services. Identifies and supports linkages to community resources that support the recovering person's goals and interests. Identifies barriers to full participation in community resources and develop strategies to overcome those barriers.
Maintains contact with recovering persons after they leave the program to ensure their ongoing success and provide re-engagement support if needed.
Works with staff and other community professionals to develop, implement, and promote recovery-oriented training programs and opportunities.
Maintains project logs, reports, and records in appropriate files and databases. Develops relationships with community groups/agencies in partnership with others in the agency.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Adequate knowledge of activities of daily living. [Required]

• Lived experience with substances use disorder and awareness of the importance of recovery. [Required]
• Ability of providing individualized, ongoing guidance, coaching and support. [Required]
• Excellent advocacy skills. [Required]
• Understanding and the ability to lead group sessions. [Required]
• Experience in working directly with people in a service-oriented field [Preferred]

• 2+ years sobriety [Required]
• Past or present consumer of substance use disorder services with a history of managing one's own illness [Required]

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Preferred]
• Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) within 12 months of hire [Preferred]
