Chief of Staff / Firm Operations Lead Brogan Law PLLC is a full-service boutique law firm serving emerging companies, founders, investors, and regulated businesses facing complex legal and regulatory challenges. The firm advises clients on M&A, venture financings, outside general counsel matters, regulatory licensing, derivatives and trading regulation, crypto and digital assets, prediction markets, and rulemaking and regulatory counsel. Brogan Law is hiring a Chief of Staff / Firm Operations Lead to work directly with the founder and own the operating infrastructure of a growing boutique law firm. This is a full-time, remote role for a highly organized, discreet, and proactive operator who is comfortable building systems from scratch, taking ambiguous problems, and turning them into repeatable processes. The role combines hands-on executive support with ownership of core firm operations. The Chief of Staff will manage day-to-day administrative execution — including scheduling, inbox management, travel, engagement letters, invoices, DocuSign workflows, CRM updates, document organization, and vendor coordination — while also building the systems that make those workflows faster, cleaner, and more scalable. This is not a strategy-only role and it is not a passive administrative role. The right person will be expected to identify operational gaps, design practical solutions, implement them, and continuously improve how the firm runs. Responsibilities • Own and build the firm’s core operating systems, including conflicts, client intake, engagement letters, CRM, billing workflows, document management, vendor management, and internal trackers. • Provide direct executive and administrative support to the founder, including scheduling, inbox management, travel coordination, and follow-through on open tasks. • Prepare engagement letters, coordinate DocuSign workflows, create invoices for attorney review, and manage billing-related processes. • Maintain and improve the firm’s CRM, document organization, templates, dashboards, and process documentation. • Take ambiguous operational problems, define the next steps, and execute without needing constant direction. • Identify bottlenecks in how the firm operates and implement practical systems to improve speed, clarity, and accountability. • Support special projects related to firm growth, technology adoption, hiring coordination, and operational improvement. Qualifications • Self-starter who can take a task, figure out what needs to happen, and execute with minimal direction. • Exceptional organization, follow-through, and attention to detail. • Complete discretion and sound judgment with confidential client and firm information. • No-ego approach to administrative work; willing to handle both high-level operations and routine execution. • Strong written communication skills and comfort preparing clear internal updates, trackers, and summaries. • Comfortable with Microsoft Office, Outlook, OneDrive, spreadsheets, DocuSign, QuickBooks, and modern AI/productivity tools. • Experience in startup operations, consulting, project management, law firm administration, finance, accounting, or a similar operating role preferred. Former Big Four, consulting, startup operations, or professional-services experience is a plus. • Must be based in the United States and available during New York business hours, Monday through Friday. This role offers a $90,000 salary, health insurance, bonus eligibility, direct engagement with a fast-growing boutique law firm working on cutting-edge legal and regulatory issues, and a potential path to a COO role as the firm grows.
