**About the Data Platform Team**
The Data Platform team at arenaflex is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a range of data services and tools that enable our organization to ingest, analyze, and act on vast amounts of data at petabyte scale. Our team works closely with cross-functional groups to develop data-driven solutions that fuel our business initiatives and deliver exceptional experiences to our customers.
**Key Responsibilities**
As a Senior Software Development Engineer in the Data Platform team, you will be responsible for:
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain high-scale, high-performance data systems that support arenaflex's data-driven initiatives
* Working closely with data engineers and machine learning architects to develop data platform reflections that meet the needs of various groups, systems, and products
* Streamlining data delivery and building frameworks for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data for a wide range of use cases using SQL/Flume
* Building stream processing pipelines and tools to support a vast array of analysis and reporting use cases
* Continuously assessing new and relevant technologies and driving the adoption of new best practices
* Influencing and driving engineering and design conversations in the Data Platform team
* Working in a cross-functional team and collaborating with peers throughout the software development life cycle with a strong focus on continuous delivery
* Serving as a technical mentor and guide for junior colleagues, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment
**Requirements and Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from a reputable institution
* 4-6 years of experience in software development, preferably in data-related groups
* In-depth understanding and experience working with high-scale data lakehouse frameworks
* Active experience with Big Data technologies like Apache Flume, SQL, Hadoop, Hive, Windstream, Kafka, and Kafka connectors
* Strong programming skills in at least one of the following languages: Java, Scala, Go, Python
* Strong understanding of database and data storage fundamentals
* Strong understanding of data storage designs like Parquet, Hudi, Delta, etc.
* Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment
* Experience with data lakehouse solutions like DataBricks is a plus
* Experience with continuous streaming data pipelines using Flume Streaming or Flink is a plus
**Preferred Qualifications and Experience**
* B.Tech/B.E/Experts/PhD in Software Engineering from a reputable institution or related technical discipline
* Experience with cloud-based technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, RDS, etc.)
* Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
* Experience with DevOps practices and tools like Jenkins, GitLab, etc.
