**Job Summary:**
We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Customer Support Specialist III to join our team at arenaflex. As a key member of our Shared Services Unit, Information Technology (IT) Department, you'll provide top-notch technical support to our users and workstations, primarily at our Blythewood headquarters facility. Your expertise will be essential in removing, installing, and replacing new workstations, peripherals, and troubleshooting common desktop applications issues. You'll also provide support for agency-specific software and hardware, as well as travel with our desktop team to assist with delegated assignments and projects.
**Responsibilities:**
* Provide technical support for SCDMV users and workstations, primarily at the Blythewood headquarters facility
* Remove, install, and replace new workstations, peripherals, and troubleshoot common desktop applications issues, such as those found in Microsoft products
* Provide support for agency-specific software and hardware as needed
* Collaborate with the desktop team to image, upgrade, and roll out new IT technology assets to SCDMV field offices
* Travel with the desktop team to assist with delegated assignments and projects, including overnight trips as needed
* Cover and provide logistical and technical support to field offices as a backup team member
* Utilize web-based forms and Service Manager trouble ticket tracking system to document all system trouble/help calls, recommendations, notes, and actions taken
* Assist with inventory management and tracking of assets as necessary
* Fill out Agency required paperwork in a neat and accurate manner
* Perform other duties as required
**Minimum Requirements:**
* High school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems
* Associate degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience
**Agency Requirements:**
* Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include fingerprinting
**Additional Requirements:**
* Ability to interpret and apply rules and regulations
* Effective oral and written communication skills
* Positive attitude and high comfort level in a team-oriented, fast-paced working environment
* Experience working with computers in a Windows environment
* Ability to learn, develop, and use IT technical troubleshooting skills
* Familiarity with handling inventory and stock items, including the use of computer software for documenting, tracking, and maintaining accurate records
* Ability to multi-task and take on different assignments that spread across a wide range of desktop team responsibilities and end-user requirements
* Works under the general guidance and supervision of the Desktop Support Manager
* Employee has general discretion to use own good judgment in accordance with industry-accepted Best Practices documents and procedures
* Individual should be self-motivated and have the ability to see what needs to be done and accurately convey that information to their supervisor
* Must possess a valid SC Driver's License
* Frequent in-state, including some overnight travel, will be required
* Must be able to lift 50 lbs
* Will be required to work outside normal 8:30am-5:00pm as needed to meet customer service demands
* Will be required to keep state-provided cellular telephone powered on and with or near their person at all times
* Must live within a 40-mile radius of Blythewood
**Agency Preferred:**
* Ability to interpret and recognize current hardware and software standards
* A+ certification is not necessary but is highly desirable
