About the position
SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a Safety Administration Intern to support our national Health and Safety team. This internship is expected to be 40 hours per week, with potential for overtime pay to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills (Microsoft suite, SharePoint), a positive attitude, and a passion for and some experience in safety (coursework, fieldwork). This role is crucial for implementing and enhancing SWCA’s national safety program and activities. The internship will take place during the summer of 2026, approximately June 1 to August 28, with a strong preference for candidates who can commit through the end of August 2026. This is a paid, 40-hour per week internship at $19.00 per hour. While the preferred location is Phoenix, AZ, highly qualified remote candidates will also be considered. Responsibilities
• Updating and revising the MySWCA Safety Site on SharePoint.
• Support, develop and write companywide safety communications (e.g., Safety Tips and safety team meeting set up).
• Third Party safety site support (Standard and Client Questionnaires).
• Incident management and tracking support.
• Vehicle database maintenance.
• Compiling resources and updating tutorials and video trainings.
• Supporting Certificate of Insurance (COI) program.
Requirements
• Current enrollment in a community college, college, or university, pursuing a certificate of proficiency, Associates degree, or a Bachelor’s degree. Individuals who completed a bachelor’s degree within 12 months of May 1, 2026, will also be considered.
• Applicants that are pursuing a master’s degree will also be considered.
• Experience through academic coursework or other work experience with Environmental, Health and Safety procedures and best practices.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
• Strong SharePoint intranet design and SharePoint list skills.
• Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite.
