Project Manager - Aviation

About this Role: Onsite Project management and support of Norfolk Airport Authority capital program which includes daily observations and reporting of progress, safety, quality and operational impacts to a variety of stakeholders. Duties may include quantity take-offs, cost schedule reviews, quality management, and contract administration. Knowledge of building systems, construction sequencing and communication protocol in an aviation environment is beneficial. Key Responsibilities: • Conducts regular job site visits to monitor progress, identify schedule risks, and ensure conformance with the project schedule, plans, specifications, and applicable codes and standards. • Develops, maintains, and updates the project schedule using scheduling software, including activity sequencing, milestone tracking, and critical path analysis to drive on-time project completion. • Proactively coordinates with the design and construction team to identify and resolve schedule, quality, and design conflicts, including review and approval of shop drawings. • Oversees project costs, monitors budget performance, and prepares detailed cost estimates, forecasts, and cost-to-complete analyses, implementing corrective actions to maintain financial targets. • Manages the contractor billing and change order process, including review, negotiation, and approval in accordance with contract terms. • Serves as the primary point of contact for project communications, proactively engaging stakeholders, reporting project status, and facilitating issue resolution across the team. • Owns all project documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle, and provides data analysis and reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders. Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field. • 5-8 years of progressive experience in Airport Terminal or Support Facilities Construction, with demonstrated ability to lead projects independently. • Willingness and ability to travel to client sites for site inspections and project oversight, including overnight travel to other airports as required. • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to client standards and policies. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and project management software; ability to leverage technology to manage project documentation and communications effectively • PMP, CCM, AACE, or similar certifications preferred What's In It For You: • Company-paid life and disability insurance • Optional benefits like pet insurance, legal, and supplemental health plans • 401(k) with day-one eligibility, 3% safe harbor, plus up to 2.5% company match • Generous time off: 10 paid holidays and PTO starting at 15 days, growing up to 25 • Access to Consertus Academy for continuous learning and development
