About the Role Our client, a global leader in automotive technology development, is seeking an experienced Remote Automotive Functional Safety Engineer to join their dedicated team. You will be responsible for the implementation and verification of functional safety concepts according to international standards such as ISO 26262. This role requires a deep understanding of automotive safety principles, risk assessment, and safety case development. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain functional safety concepts (FSC) and technical safety requirements (TSR) for automotive systems and components. Perform safety analyses, including Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 functional safety standard throughout the product development lifecycle. Collaborate with system, hardware, and software engineering teams to integrate safety requirements into designs. Create and manage safety documentation, including safety plans, safety cases, and verification reports. Define and oversee verification and validation activities to demonstrate compliance with safety goals. Support the safety assessment process and interact with certification bodies as needed. Mentor junior engineers on functional safety principles and practices. Stay updated on the latest developments in automotive functional safety standards and technologies. Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in functional safety engineering within the automotive industry. In-depth knowledge and practical application of ISO 26262 standard. Experience with safety analysis techniques (HARA, FMEA, FTA) and safety management tools. Familiarity with automotive systems, including ECUs, sensors, actuators, and communication networks. Strong understanding of system development processes and safety lifecycle. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work productively in a remote setting. Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
