The UVA VEC is seeking experienced Credit Professionals to contribute to a cutting-edge AI research initiative focused on improving the financial reasoning capabilities of next-generation AI systems. In this role, you will apply your expertise in credit analysis and lending to evaluate and refine how AI models understand complex financial scenarios.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate complex credit and lending scenarios
- Review AI-generated financial analyses and assess their accuracy and reasoning
- Create realistic credit-related case studies and evaluation tasks
- Provide structured feedback to improve AI performance in financial decision-making
- Assess corporate credit quality, risk factors, and financial health
- Contribute expertise in cash flow analysis, liquidity assessment, and covenant evaluation
- Support the development of AI systems capable of sophisticated financial reasoning
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure high-quality outputs and evaluations
Skills
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in one or more of the following: Credit Hedge Funds, Private Credit, Leveraged Finance, Restructuring Advisory, Distressed Debt Investing, Credit Research & Analysis
- Experience in One or More of These Areas: Credit and Financial Modeling, Credit Rating Analysis, Cash Flow & Liquidity Analysis, Covenant Review and Credit Agreement Analysis, Recovery and Liquidation Analysis, Distressed Credit Investing, Structured Credit & Securitization, Risk Assessment & Portfolio Analysis
- Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities
- Advanced understanding of corporate credit markets
- Experience interpreting complex financial statements and loan documents
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills
- Ability to explain financial reasoning clearly and concisely
- Experience working independently in fast-paced environments
