Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Blu Omega is seeking a Junior Vulnerability Analyst to support the NIH cybersecurity operations center. This role is responsible for assessing and mitigating cybersecurity vulnerabilities in healthcare and federal systems within a fully remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate the severity and potential impact of discovered vulnerabilities
- Prioritize remediation efforts based on risk levels to enhance security posture
- Create detailed reports outlining findings, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with system administrators and developers to address vulnerabilities
- Verify and validate fixes to ensure vulnerabilities are effectively remediated
- Support ongoing cybersecurity operations by assisting with vulnerability management tasks in a 24x7 environment
Skills
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, and risk assessment
- Experience with security tools and scanning software preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate across technical disciplines
- Knowledge of federal cybersecurity guidelines such as FISMA, HHS, DHS CISA is a plus
- Prior experience with cybersecurity operations or vulnerability assessment roles
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or equivalent
- Familiarity with incident response procedures and cyber threat intelligence
- Knowledge of scripting or automation to support vulnerability remediation tasks
