Responsibilities: Architect and design comprehensive, utility-scale solar PV systems, including AC/DC coupled architectures, energy storage integration, and advanced control strategies. Develop high-level system designs, PPA-specific electrical designs, and detailed schematics for solar projects ranging from tens to hundreds of megawatts. Lead the technical evaluation of new solar technologies, inverters, batteries, and balance-of-system components. Perform complex system modeling and simulations using tools like PVSyst, Helioscope, and SAM to optimize energy yield, cost, and performance. Develop and maintain technical standards, design guidelines, and best practices for solar energy systems. Collaborate closely with project development, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) teams to ensure seamless project execution. Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to remote engineering teams across different time zones. Conduct technical reviews of proposals and designs submitted by external partners and vendors. Stay at the forefront of industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in solar energy and energy storage. Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide solutions for operational solar assets. Contribute to strategic planning and R&D efforts related to next-generation solar and storage solutions. Qualifications: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 10+ years of progressive experience in the design and architecture of solar PV and energy storage systems. Proven track record in architecting and delivering large-scale (100MW+) utility-grade solar projects. Deep expertise in solar system design principles, AC/DC coupling, battery energy storage systems (BESS), grid interconnection standards, and power conversion technologies. Advanced proficiency in solar design and simulation software (e.g., PVSyst, Helioscope, SAM, AutoCAD). Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals, including power systems, protection, and controls. Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with experience leading remote or distributed teams. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences. Experience with SCADA systems and plant performance monitoring is a plus. This fully remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in the US while playing a pivotal role in advancing clean energy globally.
